GET INVOLVED

Working on this project and getting to know some of the staff at the Centre has opened my eyes to many things. Firstly, that there are individuals who have a genuine love for those around them and particularly those who are in need of the love and compassion of Christ.

Secondly, I have learnt that education can be consumed in many different forms. From a structured school setting, to learning how to manage your own home garden, or merely learning that if one recycles, one not only cleans up the area but one is also able to deservedly receive food. I have learnt that there is no good deed too small or insignificant.

We live on a continent where we are inherently required to do more. To be more. To help more. Most importantly I have learnt to be grateful. Grateful that I have been blessed with luxuries I have done nothing to deserve.

There is a divine presence that has placed me in a position of privileged and I recognise now through this, that I need to do more. To be more. To help more.

The Missionvale Care Centre has founded itself on love, compassion, consultation, participation and self-development. Many people are merely surviving instead of living, and this Centre, Sister Ethel and everyone who works towards its efficiency, can be proud of themselves for what they have managed to achieve in the last 26 years.
